Landscape Toolbox Data Center
The Landscape Toolbox Data Center is an online mapping application that serves two purposes. First, it is a centralized clearinghouse for the data layers that have been created as part of the Landscape Toolbox project where people can go to download the data. Second, it is a functional, online geographic information system (GIS) that provides access to analysis tools and data without the need for specialized and expensive software. Many private landowners do not have access to specialized GIS software and as a result have not been able to take full advantage of the data and tools that are available. Users can create, store, and edit their own features in the system to map their own areas or upload points, lines, and polygons from shapefiles.
The Landscape Toolbox Data Center is currently in development. The site is available for general use, but not all features may be working and performance may be slow. The Data Center requires a user login and password. You can request an account for the Data Center by Contact, or use login: guest, password:toolbox .
Note: The Data Center site works best with Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or higher.
